Terre de Bellevarde
Terre de Bellevarde, grills and lake views above Duingt
Our take
We recommend Terre de Bellevarde for a terrace and lake view that are hard to match; book ahead, and expect the bill to follow the panorama.
From the hills above Duingt, Terre de Bellevarde looks down on Lake Annecy quite literally: the terrace sits above the village, facing the Roc de Chère and the Tournette peak. We drove up for lunch, and the view alone was worth the climb.
The menu
This is a grill place first — meat cooked over a wood fire, some cuts sold by weight — and a Sunday brunch spot, served into the early afternoon. The menu stays simple and locally sourced, with a handful of vegetarian options.
The terrace, and the price
The terrace is the real draw here; it’s what keeps the room full even when service runs slow. Reviews are split on value: some find the bill steep for what lands on the plate, especially on meat sold by weight, while others think the setting is worth every euro. Our take: go for the view, not for a bargain — and call ahead, since hours move around with the season.
